Ocean First returns to the white continent, Antarctica, as we resume our quest for adventure and exhilarating experiences! This trip is like no other with mind-blowing, towering frozen landscapes, close encounters with curious penguins and long-distance travelers of the ocean, and a sense of quiet and peace that is found nowhere else on Earth. We begin our tour with a stop in Buenos Aires to experience this beautiful city. Next stop is Ushuaia, the southernmost city in Argentina and the jump-off point for Antarctic exploration. We will explore the wilds of Tierra del Fuego and the Beagle Channel prior to embarking on the famous Drake Passage crossing. Although the crossing has no land in sight, the vessel is always accompanied by soaring albatrosses, masters of ocean journeys. The first glance of iceberg debris lets you know you have arrived at the the 7th (and last for many!) continent. Penguins and seals swim effortlessly in this harsh landscape with one eye always towards safety. Minke and humpback whales work together to feed on bountiful krill, constantly on the lookout for menacing orcas! This is a once in a lifetime experience and will stay in your memory forever. Antarctica never loses it’s grip on your heart or imagination!
