Escape the February winter doldrums to exotic Grenada, part of the famed Spice Islands in the eastern Caribbean. Pristine reefs, exciting shipwrecks and plentiful marine life await you in this tropical paradise!

Trip Leader: Kathy Gagliardo

Grenada is located in the far eastern Caribbean and lies at the southern end of the Grenadines island chain. Often referred to as the “Island of Spice”, this pretty little country is famous for it’s two main exports: nutmeg and mace. As with many of the islands in this part of the Caribbean the topography is primarily volcanic and rugged. Grenada’s location between the eastern Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean attracts unique macro life like seahorses and frogfish as well as large pelagic animals that visit these reefs as they cruise the open ocean. It is not uncommon to be watching an octopus crawl along the reef and shortly after witness a majestic eagle ray gracefully fly by!

The topside fun is not to be missed, either. The beautiful rainforests provide opportunities for nature enthusiasts to explore waterfalls and the gorgeous flowers along the way. There is all kinds of delicious local cuisine to try as well! This adventure guarantees to chase those winter blues away and rejuvenate your soul to survive the rest of winter!
