Papua New Guinea is the perfect destination for anyone looking for wild, undeveloped country rich with underwater treasures, stunning landscapes, and unsurpassed cultural interactions. There are over 600 islands with 800 indigenous languages spoken in this fascinating country.

Trip Leader: Amy Christopher

Papua New Guinea is located in the coral triangle, the center of marine biodiversity and has the highest diversity of tropical fish and coral in the world. The waters of New Britain are home to prolific and diverse marine life and reef structures. Pristine and colorful corals are home to a variety of fish, crustaceans and invertebrate life. Many of the reefs have resident schools of barracuda, tuna and jacks. A variety of shark species are regularly sighted as well including hammerheads and silvertips, particularly on the offshore reefs. The occasional sightings of orca, pilot whales, whale sharks and other marine life passing through Kimbe Bay and West New Britain waters always delight both guests and staff.

Our PNG adventure on board the MV Oceania (the newest addition to Febrina) takes us to Kimbe Bay, world renown for stunning corals and an immense assortment of reef creatures. There are over 40 reef systems in Kimbe Bay providing unlimited diving options! We will also spend a few days at Walindi Plantation Resort to get some additional diving in as well as some birding opportunities for bird watchers!
