April 13-20, 2019

Join Ocean First as we do our part to help rebuild the coral reef in beautiful St. Croix, US Virgin Islands! This unique trip not only has great diving, it also provides us with an opportunity to give back to the reef!

Trip Leader: Scott Griesser

Ocean First recognizes that our coral reefs are in jeopardy, feeling the strain of climate change and environmental impact. We believe it is our responsibility to get involved with ocean conservation and make an effort to help the reefs recover. Our trip to St. Croix is doing just that. We have partnered up with Cane Bay Dive Shop to not only get some great diving in, our divers will be actively involved with coral farming and transplanting as well! This is an awesome way to get in there and make a difference. The Coral Restoration Project takes baby corals and nurtures them to a large enough size where they can be relocated to damaged reefs. These corals flourish and start rebuilding areas that have suffered. Divers will earn a coral restoration certification through Ocean Conservancy. Join Ocean First on this unique trip and make a difference!

*We highy recommend taking our Perfect Buoyancy course. The nature of the coral restoration project requires refined buoyancy skills.
