Ocean First returns to Cuba! Join us for this adventure filled with great diving and interesting cultural touring. Healthy reefs and vibrant topside attractions await you!

Trip Leader: Kelly Dananay

Cuba continues to be at the top of many avid diver’s lists for good reason. The country boasts healthy reefs that are not as frequently visited as most parts of the Caribbean. The diving combined with the rich history and cultural aspects that Cuba is known for promise to deliver a unique experience. Our trip begins with 3 days in Havana and other parts of Cuba. We will be learning about the culture, history, and traditions of the area with excellent guides throughout. The land portion promises to be educational as a good portion of our tour includes meeting with a coral reef conservationist on what Cuba is doing to protect their coral reefs. After 3 full days of exploring we head to coast to board the Avalon,  our home for the next week. The diving will be spectacular in Cuba’s pristine waters where robust groupers and a variety of shark species thrive. It is not uncommon to see silky, Caribbean reef, hammerhead, blacktop, lemon and nurse sharks in the dive sites that we will be visiting. Cuba’s reef systems are not as frequently visited as some other Caribbean sites and are therefore very healthy. There may even be an opportunity to snorkel with crocodiles for the truly adventurous spirit! Join us today for this unique expedition!
