Meet Amy & Kathy!

By OceanFirst on 1/8/16

As we welcome the new year we wanted to take a moment to introduce you to a few familiar faces you might see around the building. Meet Amy, co-owner and director of retail and travel; and Kathy, our buyer and retail manager. We asked them what they thought about the swim school:amykathy-(1).jpg

Amy: "I think the Swim School is an important part of the Ocean First family.  The love of the ocean starts with the youngest of our swimmers.  Here, they have a great opportunity of feeling safe and comfortable in the water and hopefully that can pour over into snorkeling, scuba, and traveling with the family.  This generation holds the ambassadors of our ocean and we want to do everything we can to support that."

Kathy: "As a child I began swimming before I could walk thanks to my mothers love of the water!  She gave me one of the best gifts possible and I am forever grateful because of the many opportunities it opened up for me as an adult.

Our swim school and the families that attend are an extension of that.  The parents are some of the most caring individuals I have met and always friendly.  The kids are eager to learn and participate.  Our staff is able to give the gift that my mom gave me but only with the support of the wonderful families that we teach.

I believe that this excitement for the ocean will carry on and allow these kids and families to have many experiences they wouldn't have had otherwise and adventures for many years to come.  They are the future for swimming, free diving, scuba diving but more importantly for the stewardship of anything relating to a marine environment. I am eternally grateful for our amazing families/kids and the patient instructors who make it all happen."

When you see them around feel free to introduce yourselves and maybe swap a few travel stories. They have both been to quite a few amazing places!
